Our Projects

Food Scarcity

Clara Verner Towers is an assisted living facility that the Unity Alliance Foundation worked with to increase uptake in food assistance programs such as the Double Up Food Bucks. By applying our Value Stream Analysis we were able to better coordinate resources and improve awareness of DUFB.

The Backpack Problem

This project will meet the needs of the children / students while reducing the dreaded ‘chaos’ of initiatives similar to Backpack drives. By utilizing industry-standard problem solving tools (Lean / VSM), school supply initiatives will move from the current wasteful “push system” to an efficient “pull system” tied directly to the customer demand (the student). Initial steps involve current state mapping of the existing distribution chaos and integrating stakeholders.

The Bridge

The Bridge is the first standardized Lean/VSM framework designed specifically to connect the chaos and competition of the nonprofit world with the clarity and linear discipline of Lean systems. It redefines how continuous improvement is applied in human-centered, mission-driven environments

Education

The Unity Alliance Foundation USA is partnering with I Dream Big Academy, Stillman College, the Saban Center, and the University of Alabama. I Dream Big Academy is the first charter school to have an HBCU partnership in Alabama. These projects illustrate Unity Alliances continued support of education and the Tuscaloosa community.
